I’m excited to share these rustic chic wedding photos from Flamingo Gardens, Davie, South Florida.

As a wedding photographer in Fort Lauderdale, Crystal + Abner are one of the most adorable couples I’ve had the pleasure in photographing. Not only are they personable, incredibly smiley, and creative, but they care so much about their friends and family it’s tangible.

The couple met in middle school and remained close friends, then partners, after that. They had been together for a few years when Abner decided it was time to ask the question.

His wedding proposal was so romantic. The couple both love to travel and were in Europe on vacation. They were headed to Paris from Amsterdam on a train when Abner dropped to one knee and asked the all-important question.

They had their rustic chic wedding at Flamingo Gardens. Crystal was inspired by the ancient Banyan tree in the gardens and loved the whimsical and romantic feel of the space. As an interior designer, she left no details out on the day of her wedding.

The theme was rustic chic and her chosen wedding color scheme was deep red, white and purple, which was perfect for this sunny winter’s day in Florida. Crystal designed and made most of the details including the floral ceremony arch, the boutonniere and she also designed her own bouquet.

They love to dance, which is why their first dance as a married couple was a well-choreographed salsa!
