Pilar + Juan met in Colombia in 1999 when they were both studying at college. They started chatting online and organized a blind date. Since then, they have become inseparable. In 2006 they emigrated to the U.S. with their son, and after 17 years of dating, Juan finally proposed.
The couple married at the stunning St Mark’s Catholic Church in Southwest Ranches. This was my first time shooting as a wedding photographer there and it truly is a beautiful church; fountains, stain glass windows, and an ornate wooden ceiling.
After a traditional ceremony at the church, the couple and their guests then drove to Robbins Park for their reception. A picturesque reserve with lots of oak trees, walkways, and the most perfect sunset. Pilar told me she chose Robbins Preserve because their love story was like a fairy tale and the park trees were like an enchanted forest. So romantic!
My favorite part of this wedding was the bride and groom portraits. I loved the romance of the trees, the stunning sunset, and the obvious love between the couple. Neither Pilar nor Juan could stop smiling throughout the day.
