This story is about a modern Jewish wedding at a trendy Miami hotel. Only this wedding almost didn’t go ahead because of a freak snowboarding accident…

Dana + Alex were initially meant to marry in a different State in 2017, but unfortunately problems with their chosen venue meant they had to reschedule their date and location. Event though the couple live in San Francisco, they chose Miami for their wedding as the bride’s parents live here. They hired amazing vendors to help organize their special day, and all was going well. However, 3-weeks before their wedding date, Dana had a freak snowboarding accident and broke her elbow. She was in a hard splint in a full arm cast and in a lot of pain. Her doctor assured her she was able to switch to a brace before the wedding, which she was able to take off before the ceremony. She still had an ear-to-ear smile throughout the whole day though.
The couple chose the rooftop at the gorgeous EAST Miami hotel for their modern Jewish wedding ceremony and reception. The bride loved the idea of the minimalist setting, yet it had breathtaking views over downtown Miami. Celebrated with close friends and family, their wedding was very simple. Yet the couple managed to include lots of sentimental and important elements to their day.
Although the couple opted to not do the traditional Jewish Bedeken (where the groom approaches the bride for the veiling), they still ensured their wedding included Jewish wedding traditions. The Ketubah Signing took place in the beautiful setting of Sugar. This 40th floor rooftop space overlooks downtown Miami and is not for the feint hearted!
Dana + Alex took their wedding vows under the Chuppah. Their immediate family and bridal party held the Chuppah for the couple who stood underneath. As the ceremony came to an end, Alex was invited by the Rabbi to step on the glass and Mazel Tov! was cheered by the guests.
I think you’ll agree, this Modern Jewish Wedding at EAST Hotel Miami was beautiful
