For a long time, I’ve wanted to photograph an engagement session at the Gold Coast Railroad Museum in Miami but hadn’t found a couple wanting this vintage look. Jessica + Jared were the perfect match, as they are planning a vintage travel themed wedding in 2019. I suggested this venue for their engagement photoshoot and they agreed. I was excited!
Both Jessica + Jared work in the yachting industry and admitted it can be hard to maintain relationships due to the constant traveling and long hours. However, they found themselves both swiping right on each other’s profiles through the dating app, Tinder. They had their first date in a taxi cab in the Bahamas. I knew I’d like this couple.
After dating for just over a year, they went on vacation to Ireland. On the cliffs of Dun Aengus amidst a 4000-year-old fort, Jared dropped to one knee and they became officially engaged.
On the day of their engagement photoshoot at the Gold Coast Railroad Museum, they both dressed perfectly. Jared looked handsome in a grey vest with navy pants, and even changed from his tie to a bow tie to complete the look. Jessica looked absolutely stunning in a vintage-style white polka-dot dress. Combined with high heels, red lips (expertly crafted by the amazing Sandy, from East Coast Makeup Inc.), and 20’s style curls, she definitely looked the part.
The perfect old-fashioned locomotives set the scene, but the couple’s personalized details, such as the antique compass, old-fashioned travel map, and the celebratory champagne meant this engagement photography session was one I’ll never forget.
