The Fort Lauderdale Historical Society, nestled in the beautiful Riverwalk area of the city, is the perfect location for any memorable event, which is why Event Planner, Abby from Blue Orchid Events & Design, chose this stunning building as a backdrop to our recent rustic-chic stylized wedding shoot.
The historic mansion is surrounded by verdant gardens full of aged trees and native palms. To top it off, the gardens boasted a white gazebo which played wonderfully into the scene of the bride & groom cutting the decadent organic chocolate cake. Enough to make anyone’s mouth water!
As well as the gazebo area, the events team did an amazing job of setting up four separate stations including the bride & grooms reception area, which consisted of farmers’ tables beautifully decorated with a perfumed tumble centerpiece, plum-colored florals, stunning hand-crafted menus, and a cascade of market lights to frame the space. To the side of the mansion sat a 10-foot long farmers’ table designed with a beautiful floral centerpiece with whiskey, cheeses and meats for guests. Finally, a lounge area with opulent chaise-lounges was tucked into grassy palms with the historic mansion framed in the background.
What would be a rustic wedding without an obligatory well-loved member of the family in the form of a black Labrador? We couldn’t leave her out of the frame..!
None of this would have been possible without the amazing vendors who came together as a team under the vision of Abby to create such a wonderful, memorable shoot.
