Indian wedding featured in South Asian Bride Magazine
Aarthi + Sharvil are hilarious. Throughout their engagement photoshoot at Vizcaya Museum in Miami, we just laughed the whole time. When it came to their wedding day, I was prepared for my face to ache with more laughing, smiling, and general amusement!
The couple met in graduate school through a mutual friend. One day after several years of dating, they went to Aarthi’s favorite place, Key Biscayne beach. That’s where they became bride-and-groom-to-be.
Their Indian wedding at Bahia Mar in Fort Lauderdale was a combination of Indian traditions and cultures to respect both families. It was so beautiful; bright, colorful, and modern, yet with a big bold nod to their heritage.
Sharvil’s Baraat was a fun filled tradition, arriving in style on a speed boat and welcomed by almost 200 of his closest friends and family. He then jumped into a floral-adorned car to arrive at the Mandap.
The couple looked amazing for their ceremony; Sharvil wore a traditional red and gold embroidered silk sherwani, and of course a turban in similar colors, which is found within his Northern Indian roots. Aarthi looked like a princess. Wearing a traditional south-Indian hand-woven silk sari in shades of pink and gold, her blouse adorned with lotus design and hand stitched bead-work.
For their Indian wedding reception, the groom wore a handsome 3-piece royal blue suit and pale blue striped bow tie. The bride, once again, looked regal in a pale blue and silver traditional Lehenga.
Aarthi told me her favorite part of the 2-day wedding was watching their parents smile and witness how many people celebrated their love with them.
With almost 300 guests in attendance, it was an unforgettable Indian wedding in South Florida.
