Kumiko + Enrique have been dating for a number of years – 15 to be exact. They met on the dance floor during a weekend cruise to the Bahamas, and exchanged phone numbers.

They both have a love for the great outdoors and can often be found kayaking around Miami’s waterways most weekends. It was appropriate that Enrique proposed on a beach they reached by kayak at Marco Island. Crystal clear waters, not another soul in site, and a cold beer. Enrique put a love letter in a bottle and set it bobbing in the ocean for his bride-to-be to find. Getting down on one knee, he then proposes. That was in 2015.

When Kumiko initially contacted me to discuss their wedding photography, she told me that she loved buildings, design and great architecture. She wanted this to be reflected in her wedding photography. This was a challenge I was willing to accept! Having studied interior design I too can appreciate unique design concepts from ancient buildings to modern interiors.

The couple chose Coral Gables Congregational United Church of Christ as their wedding ceremony. A charming Spanish Colonial Revival setting, this church was built in 1923. I knew this was the ideal wedding venue for this modern and elegant Miami church wedding.

The day was effortlessly perfect. From the seamless wedding planning by the talented Blue Orchid Event + Design, to all the other amazing vendors (listed below the beautiful images); it was a day that Kumiko and Enrique will definitely remember. Especially the romantic sparkler exit!
