I loved capturing this modern Indian engagement photoshoot Vizcaya Museum + Gardens, Miami

Aarthi + Sharvil met In Grad School. Her best friend from college was his roommate. They have been together for almost 5-years and they are both self-confessed goofballs who love each other’s company and having fun together.

This was a very important photoshoot for them both. They have been dating long-distance for the past 2-years with Aarthi going back to school to study, and Sharvil living in Atlanta. It’s been a hard couple of years being apart from each other. This is why this was such a meaningful engagement photoshoot at Vizcaya.

Aarthi had visited Vizcaya Museum + Gardens in Coral Gables some months before with a girlfriend. She fell in love with the venue. She loved the romance of the gardens and the historic beauty of the buildings. She knew this was where she wanted her engagement session to take place.

I was briefed before the session; ‘Make sure you get lots of pictures of us laughing together. Oh, and some shots by the water. We love the water’.

The couple came to the engagement photo shoot at Vizcaya wearing their traditional Indian clothing. The colors and details were amazing. At a venue like Vizcaya, where the building is a soft palette of greys, pinks and whites, and the gardens are cloaked in greens and browns, Aarthi shone like the sun.

It’s true, Vizcaya lends itself to creating beautiful art in the form of photography, but when you have a perfect couple in love at a perfect venue, the inspiration unfolds itself on the day….
