The couple met through mutual friends and have been dating since late 2013. Brett recalls how they first met:
“I don’t think there could have been a more perfect situation for both of us. We are both a little reserved, and sometimes indecisive, so having friends set us up on a date was the best thing for us!”.
Brett knew early on in their relationship that they would get married one day.
After a few phone and Skype calls, Brett and I decided that the private beach outside their hotel would be perfect. The Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach is ideal for proposal photography and also engagement photography, due to its relatively quiet beach front, and secluded vegetative area close by.
I sent Brett the link to my previous blog post offering romantic ideas and perfect locations for surprise marriage proposals within South Florida. We decided I would pose as a photographer capturing images for local websites, and was particularly looking for vacationing couples to photograph. Kara fell for it hook, line and sinker! After finding the ideal spot on the beach, I took a few shots for this imaginary website, gave the nod to Brett, and he went down on one knee to ask the infamous question; ‘will you marry me’.
There was not a dry eye in the house. Kara was totally taken by surprise and was bowled over with her new finger sparkle!
This intimate moment is one of the many reasons I love Fort Lauderdale proposal photoshoots. Creating amazing memories for my clients is one thing; being part of this romantic journey with them is another.
